SOBRE OS CONTACTOS ENTRE POVOS

Resumo

Com motivo dos debates produzidos, em varias partes do mundo, sobre a ocupação e dominação das Américas pejos europeus, o artigo coloca inicialmente o tema da violência na história. Este tema corresponde, de certo modo ao dos contactos entre povos, sociedades ou culturas. A ocupação das Américas pelos europeus leva também a repensar o sentido da história e com isto conceitos como "humanidade" e outros. Tais conceitos devem ser reexaminados também dentro da experiência do século vinte, e em face de alguns problemas recentes.

Abstract: On the occasion of the debates in various parts of the world, about the occupation and domination of European pejos Americas, the article initially puts the issue of violence in history. This theme corresponds in some way to the contacts between peoples, societies or cultures. The occupation of the Americas by Europeans also leads to rethink the meaning of history and that concepts such as "humanity" and others. These concepts should also be reviewed within the experience of the twentieth century, and in the face of some recent problems.
