PRESENÇA DE TOMÁS DE AQUINO NO HORIZONTE FILOSÓFICO DO SÉCULO XXI

Resumo

Tomás de Aquino no horizonte filosófico do século XXI. O artigo reproduz o texto de uma conferência pronunciada por ocasião do X aniversário do Instituto Santo Tomás de Aquino de Belo Horizonte, MG (Out. 1997). Uma breve Introdução ocupa-se com a presença da obra de Tomás de Aquino no pensamento filosófico-teológico dos últimos séculos. O tema principal é tratado em três tópicos: a. Tomás de Aquino no pensamento neo-escolástico do século XX; b. Provável configuração do horizonte filosófico nos começos do século XXI; c. Razões de uma possível presença de Tomás de Aquino naquele horizonte. A Conclusão ressalta a importância do tema para a situação atual da Teologia.

Abstract: Thomas Aquinas in the philosophical horizon of the XXIth century. The article contains the text of a lecture delivered at the Instituto Santo Tomás de Aquino, Belo Horizonte, MG (Oct. 1997). A brief Introduction deals with the place of the philosophical-theological thought of Thomas Aquinas in the last centuries. The main theme is dealt with under three viewpoints: a. Thomas Aquinas in the newscholasticism of the XXth century; b. The most probably lines of the philosophical horizon in the beginnings of the XXIth century; c. Thomas Aquinas and the philosophical horizon of the coming XXIth century. The Conclusion points out to the importance of the theme for the situation of Theology today.
