TOMÁS DE AQUINO: PENSAR A METAFÍSICA NA AURORA DE UM NOVO SÉCULO

Resumo

Tomás de Aquino: pensar a Metafísica na aurora de um novo século. O artigo considera inicialmente a situação da Filosofia e, particularmente, da Metafísica na cultura contemporânea, tendo em vista a significação do pensamento metafísico de Tomás de Aquino para os problemas culturais do próximo século. Depois de urna breve análise histórica e teórica da situação de Tomás de Aquino na filosofia medieval, o artigo se ocupa mais longamente com a teoria tomásica do juízo e com a idéia de existência corno fundamento das concepções metafísicas do Aquinatense. A Conclusão busca refletir sobre as relações entre a Metafísica e a Técnica, consideradas um dos mais importantes problemas culturais do próximo século.

Abstract: Thomas Aquinas: thinking the Metaphysics at the dawn of a new century. The article first deals with the place of Philosophy and particularly Metaphysics in the contemporary culture, and with the significance of the metaphysical thought of Thomas Aquinas for the cultural problems of the coming century. After a short analysis of Aquina's historical and doctrinal place in medieval philosophy, the article deals at lenght with the thomistic theory of judgement and with the idea of existence as the very core of the metaphysical conceptions of Aquinas. Finally, the relationship between Metaphysics and Technics is dealt with, as presumably one of the most important problems in cultural life of the next century.
