Contemporary philosopher Linda Zagzebski proposes, within the field of Philosophy of Religion, the concept of divine omnisubjectivity. Omnisubjectivity consists of the capacity to know the conscious states occurring within each person’s mind. Thus, God can assume the first-person perspective of every individual, having knowledge of their subjective experiences. In this sense, omnisubjectivity is understood as total and perfect empathy. The aim of this article is to examine Linda Zagzebski’s concept of omnisubjectivity, setting forth the author’s arguments in defense of this divine attribute.
KEYWORDS: Omnisubjectivity. Philosophy of Religion. Qualitative states. Empathy. God.
