FATHER LIMA VAZ, ANCIENT PHILOSOPHY AND PLATO

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the importance of Ancient Philosophy for Henrique Cláudio de Lima Vaz. To appreciate this point, we focused on the role played by Plato in Lima Vaz’s work, since Plato was the only ancient author to whom he dedicated several papers (written between 1952 and 1997), and on whom he wrote his doctoral dissertation «Contemplation and dialectic in Plato´s dialogues », which he defended at the end of 1952, at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.
