This is an attempt to update the premises of Paul Ricoeur’s theory of narrative identity in the face of the challenge posed by presentism as conceived by François Hartog. In this sense, at first, elements that emphasize the presence of the influence of the Augustinian theory of the triple present in the Ricoeurian notion of living experience as well as in the theory of history by Reinhart Koselleck and in Sartrean existentialism will be presented. In a second step, the possibility of equating the living experience of the present triple and the theory of narrative identity will be evaluated. In the third moment, some clues will be presented for a new model of narrative identity in line with the challenges posed by presentism.
