Abstract

This article intends to analyze the limits and horizons of the relationship between ethics and religion from M. Heidegger. We answer the following question: how does Heidegger’s work support the ambiguities of the relationship between ethics and religion? We consider that there is a certain ambiguity in this relationship that is demonstrated in one way in the rereading of tradition and in another in the projection of possibilities. In the first case, ethics are based on the concept of ontotheology, while in the second, it appropriates the notion of inhabiting. Our fundamental hypothesis is that both in the thought of the ethics of tradition and in the openness to an original ethics, religious elements are fundamental and, consequently, ambiguous.
