The article presents the importance of Pope Francis’ legacy, proposing a broad contribution to “goes forth” theology. The aim of the article is to understand the synodality present in “goes forth” ecclesiology and its need to go out towards the real and existential peripheries. Pope Leo XIV continues this legacy, opening up new horizons and ecclesial paths. The way of proceeding of the Church which “goes forth” takes place in the light of synodality, closeness, friendship with creation, mercy, and poverty. The Church wich “goes forth” considers the world as its mission field and acts as a field hospital. Therefore, it is necessary to ground and advance the theological, pastoral, missionary, and especially testimonial legacy of Pope Francis. The Church of the future continues to move forward with a missionary, conciliar logic, integral ecology, and care for the poor.
